Achievements
Recent achievements of the institution include: “The Best Rhythm Guitarist” awarded to Rimiki Pajuh, a Visually Impaired student studying in the IXth standard. The School’s Band, Jyoti Sroat School Band participated at the Meghalaya Icon Contest for state local talents. About 46 groups/ bands participated from Khasi, Jaintia & Garo Hills. This was an awareness program on HIV/ AIDS organized by Springboard Enterprises in collaboration with Meghalaya Aids Control Society (MACS). The Preliminary Event was held on 25th & 26th March 2010.

PADMA SRI AWARD 2010 for Education and Literatrue–conformed by the President of India Smt. P. Patil on Headmistress of School, Smt. Bertha Gyndykes Dkhar ( a visually impaired person) for Literature & Education.

Four students appeared of which one is Visually Impaired
1. Mr. Petrus Kharmawphlang 2. Ms. Barihum Nongrum
3. Mr. Rahul Chettri 4. Ms. Shalandaka Syndong
respectively. The latter two succeeded in securing School Certificate from MBOSE.
Jyoti Sroat School is proud of its students even those who could not get through, since they had given their best to make use of the opportunity afforded to them by School after staying away from regular school for a number of years.
